All Inclusive (111) Holidays (200) Rejsy (2)Beautiful landscapes, mountains, white cliffs, gorgeous beaches and an emerald sea - this is Cephalonia. There are charming towns here where you can spend a lovely evening in a tavern, and villages, where life there is not a rush, it is free of stress, the weather is terrific and hotels are climatic. A great proposition for big fat Greek holidays. Cephalonia, the largest of the Ionian Islands, interests tourists more and more every year, who are looking for genuine Greek vibes, beautiful landscapes and beaches.
The flagship of the island is Myrtos Beach, a magnificent beach in the north-west of the island. There is no tourist infrastructure here, and the beach was one of the places where scenes to the film "Captain Corelli" were filmed. The capital of Cephalonia is Argostoli, a charming city located on a bay, with Metaxa main square and a stone bridge joining the shores of the bay. Tourism began to develop on the island in eighties of last century, but there are still many beautiful places to discover here. In the south-eastern part of the island lies Skala, one of the farthest places south in Kefalonia, the seaside holiday town. There is a sandy-rocky beach here approx. 4 km long, surrounded by pines. The destination is developing dynamically, but despite this it retains its Greek character. Here are typical taverns and bars, in town you can buy lovely pottery, visit the remains of the Old City, the ruins of a Roman villa nearby. A little to the west of Skala, lies the fishing village Katelios. There is a sand and shingle beach here - Agia Barbara - about 200 m long, that gently descends into the sea, overlooking the island of Zakynthos. Eucalyptus trees, pines, walking routes, the peaceful surroundings cause tourists who wish to spend their holidays far from the hustle and bustle of resorts to gladly come here. Approximately 2 km from here is one of a few beaches on the island, where the famous Caretta Caretta turtles have their nests. - Mirtos beach - one of the most beautiful beaches in the region of the Mediterranean Sea
