All Inclusive (103) Holidays (161) Rejsy (2)In Preveza, a place that is located further away from the cultural and business centres of Hellas, life goes on at its own rhythm - without a rush, stress and a watch in one’s hand. This small Greek region lies on the very tip of the peninsula, which on one side is surrounded by the calm waters of the Ambracian Gulf, and on the other side it meets the Ionian Sea. The picturesque beaches and sleepy villages are an oasis of peace, which have remained only memories on the popular Greek islands. There are few regions in Greece that can provide an equally intimate getaway as Preveza. So, can we imagine a better place for a blissfully relaxing holiday?
Preveza's history is long and varied, and its culture very colourful. Over the centuries, the peninsula was passed on from one hand to another hand - it was ruled by Bulgarians, Serbs, Albanians, Venetians and, the longest, the Ottoman Turks. The reign of the Ottoman Empire is resembled by a number of the most important monuments, like the ruins of the castle in Parga or the monument Zalongo. The peninsula is small, so trips are not tiring. One of the greatest attractions is the city of victory Nikepolis built by Augustus and the remains of the Oracle of the Dead where, according to the beliefs of the ancient Greeks, you could meet with the deceased. From Preveza you can take a hydrofoil to the neighbouring Cephalonia, Lefkada, Paxos, as well as the legendary Ithaca.
It is worth seeing for yourself that the opinions of Preveza region are not exaggerated. Holidays in this part of Greece is a perfect choice for all those who want to spend intimate and interesting holidays also in the all-inclusive option. Kilometers of beautiful and uncrowded beaches in Kanala await for enthusiasts of sunbathing, and lovers of the Mediterranean cuisine will be delighted by caviar from the Ambracian Gulf, onion bread and baked lucian in garlic sauce. Fans of local folklore will also find something for themselves - Preveza from June to August is teeming with life, and thanks to the great Nikopol Festivlal you can encounter national traditions with every step you take.
