Jak wróciliśmy wieczorem do hotelu czekało wino portugalskie i kieliszki oraz ciastko z napisem happy birthday :) byliśmy wszyscy bardzo pozytywnie zaskoczeni. Śniadania dobre, szczególnie obłędne pomarańczowe ciasto. Zdecydowanie polecam ten hotel :)

W hotelu czysto ale już się robi trochę styl retro, do dyspozycji 3 baseny z czego 1 pod dachem. Śniadania dobre, każdy znajdzie coś dla siebie, ale powtarzalne. Brak parkingu w hotelu, przed budynkami jest parking płatny, natomiast szczerze polecam zajechać hotel od drugiej strony, gdzie można już zostawiać wynajęte auto bez opłat. Obsługa (recepcja, kuchnia, sprzątanie) wzorowa. Wygodne łóżko, mały TV z kilkunastoma kanałami.

Śniadania bardzo smaczne, wszystko świeże i na plus — również czystość w pokoju. Niestety, z rzeczy mniej wygodnych — pokój mieliśmy oddalony o ok. 300 metrów od recepcji, strefy śniadaniowej i basenu krytego, a dojście prowadziło… wzdłuż ulicy, co nie było zbyt komfortowe. Widok z okna również niezbyt zachwycający — ściana innego budynku. Na szczęście traktowaliśmy ten hotel głównie jako bazę na przespanie, więc dało się przeżyć. Podsumowując — fajna opcja na spanie przy intensywnym zwiedzaniu , ale nie na wypoczynek z widokiem i klimatem.

W pokoju brak grzejników, więc brak możliwości żeby wysuszyć rzeczy po basenie. W łazience brak wentylacji i na suwicie zaczyna się robić grzyb. Śniadania w hotelu nawet dobre, szwedzki stół, ale codziennie to samo dzień w dzień, więc już robiło się monotonne.

Hotel dobry jako baza wypadowa. My wychodziliśmy o 8 i wracaliśmy o 20 także na przespanie się itp hotel w zupełności wystarczał. Straszne słabe śniadania i mały wybór na nich. Po trzech dniach człowiekowi zaczynał przeszkadzać już zapach kiełbasek lokalizacja też dobra. Za hotelem można było zostawić samochód za darmo a parking przed również był darmowy w godzinach (chyba) 19-9. Po drugiej stronie ulicy dużo knajpek i sklepy z spożywcze. Brakowało czajnika w pokoju.

Hotel oceniam na 2 gwiazdki, dobra lokalizacja, szczególnie jako baza wypadowa, obiekt starej daty, o niskim standardzie, dla niewymagających. Hotel składa się z 6. budynków położonych wzdłuż ruchliwej ulicy, w pobliżu sklepy i restauracje oraz przystanek autobusowy. Pokoje z ładnym widokiem na ogród i ocean. Duży minus za brak lodówki i czajnika oraz brak wi-fi w pokojach. Łóżka wygodne, do przykrycia prześcieradło, cienki koc i cienka narzuta. Brak ogrzewania, zimno w pokoju. Czystość i obsługa bez zastrzeżeń, śniadanie bardzo skromne, mało urozmaicone, produkty niskiej jakości, jajecznica z proszku – niejadalna. Podsumowując, jeżeli w XXI w. nie ma dostępu do wi-fi w pokoju, brakuje lodówki i ogrzewania, a na śniadanie serwuje się jajecznicę z proszku, to hotel nie zasługuje na 3 gwiazdki.

Hotel starszej daty, nieco podniszczony, ale czysty. Nie wiem czego spodziewały się osoby narzekające wybierając chyba najtańszy hotel na całej wyspie Nam służył za bazę noclegową i tyle. Śniadania mało urozmaicone, jajecznica niezjadalna, ale zawsze można było napić się kawy, zjeść ciastko czy zrobić najprostszą kanapkę nie martwiąc się, że muszę szukać czegoś w okolicy przed wyjściem w trasę. Faktycznie brak czajnika w pokoju, była za to suszarka, ale o tym wiedziałam z komentarzy. Ciężko mi ocenić hotel tej kategorii w tak śmiesznej cenie, dlatego daję maksa.

Hotel spełnił nasze oczekiwania, posiada piękny ogród i baseny wewnętrzny i zewnętrzne. Pokoje wystarczające i czyste, sprzątane codzienni.Śniadania monotonne i nieco zatłoczone, ale to raczej ogólny problem wyspy, z innych posiłków nie korzystaliśmy. Zachwycający punkt widokowy niedaleko i mała restauracja z cudnym widokiem. Do stolicy i z powrotem bez problemu można dotrzeć komunikacją miejską.

The centre of the island — cable car ride over the rooftops of the city of Funchal to the Monthe hill. Visiting: the sanctuary of Our Lady on Monte hill, tropical garden with Madeira's relic endemic vegetation. The picturesque mountain road leads to the heart of the island, where from panoramic terraces of Eira do Serrado you can admire the breathtaking view of the mountain precipices. A drive to a secluded village, the Valley of the Nuns, tasting the local specialty - liqueurs with chestnut, chocolate and passion fruit flavors. The route leads to the other side of the mountain range, to Câmara de Lobos - a typical fishing village with a charming port, Winston Churchill's favourite place. Optionally: a crazy downhill ride on wicker sleighs from Monte Hill (additionally payable: 15 EUR/person). Day trip. Evening with fado and Madeiran folklore — dinner in a traditional restaurant comprised of specialties of the cuisine: espetada (grilled meat) with polenta (fried cornmeal), soup, salad, boiled vegetables, dessert. The dinner is accompanied by the performance of a folk band (singing and dancing, traditional instruments) and then a concert of Portuguese fado songs performed by one of the best female singers on the island. Levada — Madeira is famous for its canals, which provide every corner of the island with water from the mountains. They were built here already in the days of the first Portuguese colonizers. Levada Rabacal — level: average, approx. 13 km, trekking time: approx. 4 h, on the route: the high waterfall Risco and cascade "25 springs" consisting of many waterfalls, the UNESCO-protected laurel forest Laurissilva. Funchal — a visit to the city market where the inhabitants of Madeira meet. Located in the heart of the center of Funchal, the market offers the best fruits, vegetables and flowers on the island and local gastronomy and crafts. A walk through the historic city center: the port area, the 15th-century Manueline style cathedral, the Madeira parliament building, the citadel of St. Lawrence and the statue of Józef Piłsudski. Visiting the famous "Old Blandy Wine Lodge" winery, getting to know the production process of the exceptional Madeira wine, which has its unique taste due to its aging in oak barrels. Tasting. A drive to the Pico dos Barcelos (355 m) lookout point, which offers a panoramic view of the entire city. Half-day trip. Levada to Furado — trekking on the levadas, unique irrigation channels. Level: medium, approx. 11 km, trekking time: approx. 5 hours. Route starts at Ribeiro Frio in the commune of Santana. Along the way there are wonderful views of the valleys and the peaks of the island. Stop and lunch at the old Herdade do Lombo das Faias farm. Continuation of trekking along the levada to Furado, an opportunity to admire the endemic flora and fauna of the laurel forest (so-called Laurissilva). Trekking ends with a descent to the Portela village. One should take suitable clothing and trekking footwear. Price - from approx. 43 EUR (includes: transport, supervision of a Polish-speaking guide, lunch at the farm).
