The ski season in Sierra Nevada starts in late November and lasts until the beginning of May. The quality of the snow here is very good even in early spring. Due to the intense sunlight in recent years, the number of snow guns maintaining the slopes in excellent condition has been doubled. There are more than 300 of them, able to produce 1940 m3 of snow per hour. Their range covers 35 km of downhill runs on 32 trails. Pradollano is a modern downhill trail which is approx. 110 km long, with varying degrees of difficulty: from ski runs for amateurs to very difficult runs only for advanced skiers. 30 ski lifts, including 2 gondola lifts and 15 chairlifts, take skiers and snowboarders to the slopes. There are 4 magic carpets here, prepared for beginners and children. The lift capacity is 47,000 people per hour.

The longest downhill run is El Aquila, which leads from Mt Veleta to Pradollano, with a length of 6 km with a level difference of 1.175 m. On a clear day you can see the Rif mountain ranges in Morocco. For enthusiasts of skiing by night there are ski runs with floodlights open on Saturdays after 19.00. During the day, the best time to train for intermediate skiers are between 9.0013.00, while amateurs and beginners will be satisfied after 13.00, when the snow on the Andalusian slopes is the softest. In Pradollano, you can refine your skiing technique in one of the ski and snowboard schools, and supply yourself with excellent equipment from the rentals. A place that cannot be overlooked by any snowboarder is the snowpark, equipped with a half-pipe 120 m long and numerous ski jumps. In 2015, Pradollano was the co-organizer of the winter Universiade.

Pradollano is terrifically prepared when it comes to gastronomy and accommodation, over 30 restaurants, bars and cafes, also with the local cuisine, is a great proposition after a busy day spent on the slopes. Numerous shops, a sports centre and an ice-skating rink complete the winter holiday with entertainment, and will satisfy the most demanding fans of winter sports.

In addition to the hotels on the slopes of Sierra Nevada, we also propose spending the winter holidays in Granada. A wonderful climate and beautiful monuments is only some of the advantages of Granada, of which the most important is its unique location: just approx. 30 km from Sierra Nevada and approx. 70 km from the coast of Costa del Sol. Thanks to its exceptionally mild and sunny winters, you can have a lovely time here exploring the famous Alhambra, Generalife gardens, take a trip to the sea, as well as combine all these attractions with the white craze in Sierra Nevada. Granada is connected with the ski lifts of Sierra Nevada by regular bus transport. Buses run a few times a day.
