Narty (4)Picturesque winter scenery, beautiful mountainous landscapes and terrifically prepared downhill ski runs. La Molina is a quiet, charming town and a terrifically organised ski complex - a great place for winter holidays among friends and family.
La Molina is a picturesque town that lies on the Spanish side of the Pyrenees in the province of Girona and the oldest ski resort in the Pyrenees - the first ski lift was opened here in 1943. Today it is a modern resort offering a wide range of activities for enthusiasts of snow fun. The peaceful complex, gladly visited by families with children, offers 53 ski slopes at an altitude from 1700 to 2445 m a.s.l. and 61 km of ski runs of varying levels of difficulty. It is supported by 14 lifts, including 1 gondola, 7 chairlifts, 3 T-bar lifts and 3 magic carpets with a total capacity of more than 25 thousand people an hour.
In addition to its excellent downhill runs, there are 2 snow parks here, where the world snowboarding championships were organised - one of them, due to the varying degrees of difficulty, will definitely be to the taste of beginners, while the other will delight those who are more advanced with a half-pipe in the Pyrenees. Infrastructure also includes numerous equipment rentals, a medical centre and 9 ski schools, where 400 instructors help make your first steps on the slopes and improve your skills.
For those who would like to try other forms of spending time actively, the picturesque runs are worth recommending, where trekking is organised on snowshoes, dog-sledging rides, snowmobile rides, a snowcat trip or a visit to the 4x4 race track. Excellent fun for the whole family will be sledge riding on specially prepared tracks. It is worth spending some time at the winter playground and try out rides on inflatable pontoons. An ideal place for après ski will be charming local restaurants serving excellent Spanish specialties. La Molina and the French Masella belong to the ski area of Alps 2500, which jointly offers more than 130 km of ski runs. The ski season here lasts from December to April.
