All Inclusive (111) Holidays (200) Rejsy (2)Naxos is the largest and greenest island of the Cyclades. Smells like olives, grapes and citrus trees, for the cultivation of which it is known not only in Greece. According to Greek mythology, Theseus abandoned Ariadne in Naxos, who then enchanted the young Dionysus. It is this God in antiquity whom the island was devoted to.
Naxos enchants with wonderful Cycladic architecture, tastes like sweet lemon liqueur and sparkles with marble, which was used to sculpt, among others, the famous Lions of Delos. The picturesque bays with beautiful sandy beaches, crystal clear water, as well as the unique sights have long been attracting those intrigued by the world and seeking the sun, but who prefer a quiet holiday away from the busy resorts. The main city and capital of the island - Naxos (the so-called Chora) is famous for its charming Venetian streets, castle walls and Byzantine churches, as well as restaurants with colourful gardens. The names of the neighborhoods resemble the maelstroms of history and centuries-long presence of the Venetians. From the island you can get to the islet Palatia by levee, where the most recognisable symbol of the island is located - Portara - the gate of the Temple of Apollo, which was never completed. Naxos can be divided into two parts: mountainous and more flat, which will appeal to enthusiasts of hiking or cycling escapades. The west coast has been famous for several years mainly for its beautiful beaches – the best in the Cyclades. In addition to the sunny Naxos, Stelida and Agia Anna are popular among tourists, which are famous for their excellent conditions for watersports. Agia Anna is also a place where some beaches are reserved for nudists. advantages: - sandy beaches, the best in the Cyclades
