Transfer to EL JEM. Visiting the well-preserved ruins of the Roman amphitheater, considered the third largest of its kind in the ancient world, which viewers had the opportunity to see in the Oscar-winning production of "Gladiator". A walk through the streets of PORT EL KANTAOUI. Transfer to the hotel, accommodation, dinner. Overnight.
3. DAY. SOUSSE - TUNIS - CARTHAGE - SIDI BOU SAÏD (route: approx. 330 km)
Breakfast. Transfer to the center of SOUSSE and sightseeing of the old part of the city, where you can find traces of Punic, Roman, Byzantine and Early Arabian history. Transfer to TUNISU. A visit to the city center and a walk through the vast labyrinth of narrow streets of the Medina of Tunis. Visit the Bardo Museum, one of the largest archaeological museums in the world, housing magnificent collections of prehistoric, ancient and Islamic art, and one of the most important, unique mosaics in the world. Transfer to CARTAGINA - now a district of Tunis, where the presidential residence and villa estates of the Tunisian elite are located, and in antiquity - the center of first the Phoenician empire and then the Roman province in North Africa. Visiting the remains of the huge complex of the Antoninas, dating back to the 2nd-3rd century AD Lunch. Transfer to the neighboring village of SIDI BOU SAÏD, shimmering with white and blue, a walk through the streets of a town beautifully located on the Tunisian Bay. Free time. Return to the hotel, dinner, overnight.
4. DAY. KAIROUAN - MONASTIR - SOUSSE (route: approx. 150 km)
Breakfast. Visiting KAIROUAN - the fourth holy city of Islam. Founded in 670, it was a strategic point in the Arab conquest of North Africa and a great center of Muslim science and art. The rich architectural heritage of the city is under the patronage of UNESCO. A visit to the Grand Mosque - the oldest in North Africa, founded in 670, with a minaret resembling the tower of a Gothic castle. Then a visit to the beautifully decorated Sidi Sahbi mausoleum, also known as the Barber's Mosque, with colorful mosaics and openwork stucco. Continue to admire the restored Aghlabid Basins, dating from the 9th century. In the city of Kairouan, the filming of the film "Indiana Jones and Raiders of the Lost Ark" was filmed. Free time in the medina, where you can buy souvenirs at a traditional Arab market. Transfer to MONASTIR, the city that experienced the greatest development under the rule of the first president of independent Tunisia, Habib Burgiba. A visit to his mausoleum. Monastir was one of the film locations during the filming of "Life of Brian" based on Monty Python. Transfer to SOUSSE. Lunch. Free time. Return to the hotel, dinner, overnight.
5. DAY. CHEBIKA - TAMERZA (route: approx. 350 km)
Breakfast. Free time or optional (at an additional cost on site): drive off-road vehicles along the Paris-Dakar route to the Camel Mountain. Time for photos. Then drive deep into the desert, to the town from "Star Wars", which is the original decoration of the saga. Return to the hotel. Check out. An off-road trip to beautiful mountain oases: CHEBIKA, located on the border with Algeria, which became the setting of the Hollywood production of "The English Patient", awarded with an Oscar, and TAMERZA, where the best dates in Tunisia "deglet nour" ("fingers of light") come from. Lunch. Drive through Gafsa. Free time. Transfer to the hotel. Accommodation, dinner, overnight.
DAY 6. TOZEUR - CHOTT EL JERID - DOUZ - MATMATA (route: approx. 390 km)
Breakfast. Check out. Transfer to TOZEUR - a city located between two salt lakes, in an oasis famous for date palms. A drive and a short stop at Tunisia's largest endless salt lake, CHOTT EL JERID, the surface of which is covered with a thin layer of salt and shimmers in the rays of the sun. Transfer to DOUZ, a green oasis at the edge of the desert, known as the Gate of the Desert. Lunch. Optionally, for those willing (for an additional fee on site): a camel ride in the desert. Transfer to MATMATA, famous for its troglodyte houses and lunar landscapes, which prompted George Lucas and his successors to film many scenes of the "Star Wars" saga here. UNESCO World Heritage Sites: the ruins of the ancient amphitheater of El Jem, the Medina of Tunis, Kairouan - the holy city of Islam. The program includes a ride in off-road vehicles, visits to the medinas and traditional bazaars, desert landscapes and the Saharan lunar landscape and numerous oases that have become the background of well-known film productions, including Star Wars, Indiana Jones, The English Patient. Dzięki Pani Agnieszce program wycieczki był prawidłowo realizowany, chociaż można było też pobyć nieco dłużej w niektórych miejscach ciekawych turystycznie (np tereny dawnej Kartaginy), nie spiesząc się zbytnio do hotelu. Pani Agnieszka umiała dobrać sensownie trasę i ciekawie oraz z humorem opowiadać o różnych rzeczach dotyczących Tunezji. Był to dla naszej grupki trzeci kraj północnoafrykański, bardzo ciekawy ale też całkiem inny niż wcześniej odwiedzane Egipt i Maroko, a wycieczka zapewniła dużo dobrych wrażeń.

Zamiast się stresować warto wymienić gdy jest coś nie tak. Wykupiliśmy fakultet Dżerba ekspres i byliśmy zadowoleni. Bardzo dziękujemy Pani pilot Agnieszce za profesjonalizm i bardzo bogatą wiedzę. Mieliśmy też bardzo dobrego kierowcę Szekera. Ogólnie było bardzo fajnie.

Oceniam pozytywnie. Było intensywne zwiedzanie, były też dni spokojniejsze. Niewątpliwie wczesne pobudki (np. raz o 3.30 w nocy) nie były przyjemnością. Ale o tym się zapomina, a wrażenia pozostają.

Program wycieczki jest niedoskonale ułożony pod względem logistycznym. Na szczęście pilot może wnieść zmianę kolejności odwiedzanych miejsc, co też pilotka uczyniła. W trakcie wycieczki mieliśmy okazję poznać różnorodność klimatów i krajobrazu Tunezji. Zobaczyliśmy zieloną północ kraju i przemieszczaliśmy się na południe, gdzie Sahara przywitała nas pięknymi oazami, ale również surowym szotem. Ciekawym doświadczeniem była wizyta w domu Berbera w Matmacie. Zadziwiała zaradność tamtejszej ludności żyjącej w surowych warunkach. Wycieczka "Wrota Pustyni" nie pokazuje całej Tunezji, ale pozwala zachęcić do kolejnych odwiedzin tego kraju.
