Description
1. DAY. Collection of participants. Trip to Italy via the Czech Republic and Austria with short stops.
2. DAY. ORVIETO In the morning, arrival at ORVIETO, a former Etruscan city, now famous for its cathedral - one of the most magnificent Gothic buildings in Italy and refreshing white wine. Walk down the main avenue to Piazza Duomo. Tour of the cathedral with the Chapel of San Brizio with a fascinating series of frescoes by Beato Angelico and Lucca Signorelli. Transfer to the hotel in Fiuggi near Rome. Accommodation, half board, overnight stay.
3. DAY. CASERTA Breakfast. Checking out. Transfer to CASERTA - the Versailles of Naples and the former royal residence - La Reggia, where the monumental Bourbon Palace with huge gardens is located. Walk on the main avenue, which is over 3 km long, and on its axis a system of pools with fountains decorated with statues of mythology was built. Transfer to a hotel near Tropea. Accommodation at the hotel near the sea, free time, half board, overnight.
4. DAY. TROPEA Breakfast. Half-day trip to TROPEI - the most beautiful and fashionable city in Calabria, picturesquely situated on the promontory of the same name. Tropea impresses with Mediterranean architecture, from the upper part of the city there is a magnificent view of the Aeolian Islands. Transfer to a farm producing and selling typical Calabrian food products, tasting. Return to the hotel, free time for sunbathing. Half-board, overnight stay.
5. DAY. TAORMINA Breakfast. Checking out. Promotion to Messina in Sicily - the largest island in the Mediterranean Sea, attracting tourists with its exoticism and richness of monuments. Sightseeing of TAORMINA: Teatro Greco - picturesquely situated ruins of an ancient theater, walk along Corso Umberto to the square with an observation deck, from where you can admire the entire bay and the volcano Etna. Transfer to a hotel near Catania, accommodation, half board, overnight.
6. DAY. ETNA Breakfast. A trip to ETNA, dominating the eastern coast of Sicily. Etna is the highest active volcano in Europe (3340 m above sea level). Transfer by coach to the parking lot at the height of the Silvestri craters (approx. 1800 m above sea level). Optional: drive by jeep to an altitude of 2,900 m a.s.l. (at an additional cost). Return to the hotel, dinner, overnight stay.
7. DAY. SYRACOUS - NOTO Breakfast. Checking out. Transfer to SYRACO. Sightseeing: the old town with Piazza del Duomo, the spring of Arethusa, the Greek theater with a magnificent view of the sea, the Latomia del Paradiso with the grotto known as the Ear of Dionysus. Transfer to NOTO. Walk through the city famous for its magnificent baroque architecture of palaces and churches: Porta Reale, Church of San Francesco, the square of perfect proportions with the Chiesa Madre and imposing palaces. Transfer to a hotel near Enna, accommodation, half board, overnight.
8. DAY. PIAZZA ARMERINA - AGRYGENT Breakfast. Checking out. Transfer to PIAZZA ARMERINA and a visit to the famous Roman villa with an area of approx. 3,500 m², where in more than 40 rooms (including toilets!) Magnificent mosaic floors with a unique theme and quality of workmanship have been preserved. The most famous mosaic are the so-called girls in bikini. Transfer to AGRYGENT. Visiting the Valley of the Temples, one of the most important archaeological sites in the Mediterranean. Transfer to the hotel in the Marsala area. Accommodation, half board, overnight stay.
9. DAY. MARSALA - ERICE - SEGESTA Breakfast. Checking out. Drive along a picturesque road with characteristic salinas to MARSALA, famous for its sweet wines. A visit to one of the most famous wineries, tasting wine and other products. Then a visit to the beautiful ERICE. The old town, situated on the top of the Monte San Giuliano hill (752 m above sea level), charms with its steep, narrow streets and mysterious alleys. Transfer to SEGESTA and visiting the sensationally preserved temple from the 5th century BCE Transfer to a hotel in the Palermo area. Accommodation, half board, overnight stay.
10. DAY. PALERMO - MONREALE Breakfast. Visiting PALERMO, the capital of Sicily, beautifully situated at the foot of Monte Pellegrino, an exotic mixture of European and Oriental culture. The architecture of Palermo shows Arab, Norman, Baroque and Art Nouveau influences. Sightseeing: the cathedral, the most famous fountains of Palermo, Piazza Bellini with interesting Arab-Norman monuments. Then the famous catacombs in the Capuchin monastery housing the mummies of monks and lay people, the Palatine Chapel. Transfer to MONREALE. Visiting the cathedral with its magnificent mosaics - the most outstanding work of Sicilian-Norman art. Return to the hotel, free time. Dinner, overnight stay.
11. DAY. CEFALU - CASTELBUONO Breakfast. Checking out. Transfer to CEFALU, the largest holiday resort of the north coast, lying at the foot of the mighty La Rocca rock. A stroll through the town center with its most famous monument - the monumental cathedral from the 12th century, built by the Norman king Roger II. Free time. Transfer to CASTELBUONO and visiting the famous castle built in the 14th century. Return to Palermo and the night promotion to Naples (approx. 10 hours).
12. DAY. NAPLES Arrival in NAPLES in the morning. Visiting the capital of the Campania region begins with a visit to the Cathedral of St. Januarius, whose origins date back to the thirteenth century. The cathedral is famous for the miracle of the transformation of the blood of the patron saint of the city, from a congealed figure into a liquid figure, and from the seventeenth-century chapel and the Renaissance crypt with an urn with the remains of the saint. Then a walk through the streets of the old town entered on the UNESCO list: the street of Neapolitan nativity scene makers. Free time. Transfer to the hotel in Fiuggi. 13. DAY. BAGNOREGIO Breakfast. Checking out. Transfer to BAGNOREGIO, a spectacularly situated town amidst rocky gorges. Walk around the town, free time. Transfer to the Adriatic coast to the hotel near Rimini. Accommodation, free time for walking and sunbathing. Half-board, overnight stay.
14. DAY. FERRARA Breakfast. Checking out. Transfer to FERRARY. Visiting the historic center of the city, the former seat of the d'Este family: Castello Estense, Palazzo Comunale, Piazza del Municipio, the cathedral. Free time. Trip to Poland via Austria and the Czech Republic with short stops.
15. DAY. Arrival in Poland in the morning.
