3. DAY.Breakfast. Free time or optional (for an extra charge on site): a trip to Alexandria. Transfer to ALEXANDRIA, the city of great philosophers and thinkers, the cultural center of Egypt. Visiting Fort Kaitbaj, which stands on the site of the ancient lighthouse on Pharos, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. The fort is an excellent example of Islamic defensive architecture. Next, the catacombs of Kom es-Szukaf with a tomb with an unusual combination of Egyptian and Greek motifs. The mysterious corridors and burial chambers are decorated with bearded snakes, jellyfish and images of Anubis with the head of a dog. Visiting the New Library of Alexandria, whose futuristic edifice harmonizes with the blue of the sea. Then the program includes the Roman amphitheater and the gardens of the Montazah Palace. Lunch. Return to the hotel in Cairo, dinner and overnight.
4. DAY.Breakfast. Transfer to the royal necropolis in Giza in the suburbs of Cairo, where the largest buildings of ancient Egypt are located, including the Sphinx and the Pyramid of Cheops, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. Free time at the pyramids. Lunch. Visiting the Saladin Citadel towering above the city, a medieval fortress built to protect against the crusaders, which is entered on the UNESCO list. Then the Alabaster Mosque with its characteristic domes. Lunch. Transfer to Old Cairo. Visiting the Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the so-called a suspended church, erected on the towers of a former Roman fortress. Then a walk to the church of St. Sergius and St. Bacchus.
