An opportunity to immerse for a moment in his surreal world and see his artistic achievements in all its glory. In Barcelona, we will follow in the footsteps of the Catalan genius of modernist architecture, whose unique style determines the city's identity - no one today can imagine the capital of Catalonia without the works of Gaudí! Everything is intertwined with seaside landscapes, the beauty of the Spanish coast, which inspired great artists. In addition, a visit to Girona, which delighted the creators of the series Game of Thrones, and to Besalú, where a walk through the steep, narrow streets between stone buildings brings to mind the era of the sword and the cross. Description
1. DAY. Meeting of participants at the airport. Flight to Barcelona. Transfer to the hotel, accommodation. Free time (depending on the time of arrival), dinner and overnight.
2. DAY. BARCELONA (route approx. 30 km) Breakfast. Visiting BARCELONA. Walk through the fabulous architecture and lush vegetation in the UNESCO-listed Park Güell. A cable car ride up the Montjuïc hill with a complex of cultural and sports facilities erected for the 1929 World Exhibition. The hill offers an impressive view of the city and the port. Passageway towards the Olympic Port, dominated by a monumental structure in the shape of a fish by Frank Gehry. A visit to the famous Barcelona aquarium, where a walk through a transparent 80 m long tunnel provides a unique opportunity to observe the underwater world. In the evening, participation in a fountain show with light and sound effects. Return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight.
3. DAY. BARCELONA (route approx. 30 km) Breakfast. Walk around BARCELONA in the footsteps of the famous architect Antoni Gaudí. Visiting the Sagrada Família temple, which has been under construction since 1882. A walk through Passeig de Gràcia, where the modernist Casa Milà and Casa Batlló are located. Both the temple and the buildings designed by the great architect have become symbols of the city and have been under the patronage of UNESCO. Walk on Las Ramblas - the main pedestrian street where street artists and flower sellers gather, which Victor Hugo called the most colorful and interesting street in Europe. A visit to the famous La Boqueria market in Barcelona. Admire the coast of Barcelona from the deck of a ship during your cruise. Return to the hotel, dinner or optional (for an additional fee on site): a flamenco performance combined with a dinner. Return to the hotel, overnight.
4. DAY. BARCELONA (route approx. 30 km) Breakfast. A walk through the picturesque streets of the Gothic Quarter, where you can feel the atmosphere of medieval BARCELONA. The network of streets centered around beautiful squares, hides numerous mansions, tenement houses and churches. Visiting the cathedral dedicated to St. Eulalia, with a remarkable inner garden surrounded by cloisters, lined with magnolias and palm trees, which is inhabited by 13 white geese. Visiting the Basilica of Santa Maria del Mar from the 14th century, a great example of Catalan Gothic. The temple was erected with donations from merchants, sailors and the inhabitants of the La Ribera district as a gift from the people to the sea. She is also known from Falcones' novel "Barcelona Cathedral". Free time or individual visit to the Picasso Museum, where one of the largest collections from the artist's initial period of creativity has been gathered. Return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight.
5. DAY. TARRAGONA - POBLET (route approx. 270 km) Breakfast. Transfer and sightseeing of TARRAGONA. A walk around the city with its many fountains, squares and beautiful tenement houses. Sightseeing: cathedral, monument dedicated to Castells, showing a tower made of people. The Castells tradition has been recognized by UNESCO as the intangible cultural heritage of mankind. Transfer to POBLET and sightseeing of the Royal Monastery of St. Mary, picturesquely situated at the foot of forested hills. This historic complex is inhabited by the Cistercians. The fact that the abbey was entered on the UNESCO list proves the great historical value of the place. Return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight.
6. DAY. GIRONA - FIGUERES (route approx. 290 km) Breakfast. Drive from GIRONA, known as the "City of Four Rivers". Walk towards the Pont de Pedra bridge over the Oynar River, from where you have a characteristic view of the facades of indigo, ocher and copper houses. A walk through the walled part of the city - La Força Vella, where the most magnificent works of the city's history are concentrated, including the old Jewish quarter of El Call, Arab baths, the Basilica of Sant Feliu originally erected on the site of the burial of the martyrs of St. Narcissus and St. Felix. Visiting the cathedral with the nave of the greatest span in European Gothic architecture and with the monumental stairs leading to it. Transfer to FIGUERES, the hometown of Salvador Dali. Visiting the Theater-Museum, designed by the artist, which is a symbol of the culmination of his career. This largest surreal object in the world evokes the life and work of a great genius. Works from both the beginning and the end of his career are on display here. Return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight.
7. DAY. FREE TIME / BESALÚ - EMPURIABRAVA (route approx. 330 km) Breakfast. Free time or optionally (for an additional fee on site) a day trip. Drive to BESALÚ, a charming town where cobbled streets and stone facades reflect the town's medieval heritage. Walk: The Old Fortified Bridge on the Fluviá River which is the city's showcase, the Romanesque monastery of the Monasterio de San Pedro de Besalú, the Church of St. Vincent, a former Jewish quarter with the remains of a bathhouse, home of the Cornellá family - a 12th-century example of Catalan residential architecture. Transfer to EMPURIABRAVA, a city called the Venice of Spain. The main communication route is the 20-kilometer-long canal system based on the Venetian one. It provides access to the sea and at the same time is the city's greatest attraction. Walk along the seaside boardwalk and free time. Return to the hotel, dinner, overnight.
8. DAY. Breakfast. Checking out. Free time (depending on departure times), transfer to the airport and flight to Poland.
