Orient Extra 2 is an extension of ITAKA's Orient Express program, which has been known for years. A unique opportunity to get to know the most interesting places in Turkey. Each day brings a new, unforgettable, oriental experience. To start with, Pamukkale - a cotton fortress, entered on the UNESCO list due to its unusual snow-white limestone terraces. Then Ephesus - one of the largest and best-preserved ancient cities. The program also includes the mythical Troy - the site of the famous ancient war, described by Homer in the Iliad. Then Istanbul - a city on the border of two continents, influenced by many cultures and religions. The tour ends in picturesque Cappadocia with a lunar landscape with houses and churches carved into the rocks. A unique program allows you to explore the underground city of Kaymakli. Finally, a few days of rest and relaxation on the Turkish Riviera. All this and more in a carefully planned 11 days. Route in Turkey: approx. 2,420 km. 1. DAY. ANTALYA Collection of participants at the airport. Direct flight to ANTALYA. Transfer to the hotel. Accommodation, dinner and overnight.
2. DAY. PAMUKKALE - HIERAPOLIS (route: approx. 430 km) Breakfast. Checking out. Transfer to PAMUKKALE, known as the cotton fortress, one of the greatest wonders of nature. A walk on the white limestone terraces, entered on the UNESCO list. Visiting the ruins of HIERAPOLIS, a city founded in the 2nd century BC by the ruler of Pergamon, Eumenes II, where the theater has been preserved in a very good condition to this day. Transfer to your hotel in the Ephesus area. Accommodation, dinner, overnight.
3. DAY. EFEZ - SELCUK - PERGAMON (route: approx. 180 km) Breakfast. Checking out. Visiting EFEHU, one of the largest and best-preserved ancient cities. Visiting the ruins of the city, incl. Arcadian Way, Celsus Library, theater, baths, numerous temples and public buildings. Transfer to SELCUK, visiting the house, now transformed into a chapel. It is believed that the Mother of God spent the last years of her life there. Transfer to PERGAMON - one of the most famous cities of the ancient world, which was an important center of culture, trade and medicine in the Mediterranean. Visiting the imposing ruins of the ancient city: Acropolis and Asclepieon. Transfer to the hotel near Pergamon. Accommodation, dinner, overnight.
4. DAY. TROJA - ISTANBUL (route: approx. 530 km) Breakfast. Checking out. Tour of TROI, the legendary city of King Priam. Troy is the site of the Homeric action "The Iliad", in which the author vividly describes the fate of Helena and Paris, as well as the Greek and Trojan heroes. The city was conquered by a trick with the Trojan horse. Visiting the famous ruins of the ancient city, entered on the UNESCO list. Ride one of the longest suspension bridges in the world over the Dardanelles Strait, which is over 4.5 km long. Drive through Thrace, the European part of Turkey, to ISTANBUL - one of the most intriguing metropolises in the world, a city located on two continents. Check-in at the hotel, dinner, overnight.
5. DAY. ISTANBUL Breakfast. Sightseeing in ISTANBUL: Hagia Sophia - the Temple of Divine Wisdom, the most famous Byzantine building in Istanbul, considered one of the architectural wonders of the world. A visit to the old hippodrome, from which it is close to the Blue Mosque - the most beautiful and famous in Istanbul. 6. DAY. ANKARA (route: approx. 440 km) Breakfast. Checking out. Tour the Topkapi Palace - the imposing residence of the Sultans and the administrative center for over 380 years. Transfer to ANKARA - the capital of Turkey. In the past, the city was known for breeding animals, growing pears and grapes, and is now an important commercial and industrial center of the country. The city has a long and colorful history, so there is no shortage of places worth visiting. Visiting the Mausoleum of Ataturk - dedicated to the creator of the modern Turkish state. 7. DAY. CAPPADOCIA (route: approx. 300 km) Breakfast. Checking out. Transfer to CAPPADOCIA, famous for its lunar landscape, underground cities and rock churches. A stop on the Uchisar hill, from where there is a panoramic view of Cappadocia. A visit to the Goreme open-air museum, the largest and most interesting complex of rock churches carved in volcanic tuff. The churches have magnificent frescoes inside, most of them from the 11th century. Transfer to the hotel, check-in, dinner. 8. DAY. CAPPADOCIA Breakfast. Free time or optional (with an extra charge on site): hot air balloon flight over Cappadocia. Admiring the fairy tale landscape from above. Sightseeing of the underground city in Kaymakli, reaching 35 m down, created around the 4th century BC They consist of nearly a hundred tunnels where you can find apartments, kitchens, pantries, churches, stables that have been carved in volcanic rocks. 9. DAY KONYA - ANTALYA (route: approx. 540 km). Breakfast. Checking out. Transfer to KONYA, one of the most religious and conservative towns in Turkey, where the order of dancing dervishes was established. A characteristic feature of the members of the order is the ability to meditate in motion. Visiting the museum of Mevlana - the founder of the order. The museum has over 30,000. manuscripts dating back to the times of the monastery library, as well as carpets and rugs from the 13th-18th centuries. Transfer to ANTALYA. 10. DAY. ANTALYA Breakfast. Free time to rest.
