Greece — Evia
According to mythology, it owes the fact of being an island to the conflict of gods. It allegedly broke away from the Thessaly under the stroke of Poseidon's tridentine, when he was fighting with Zeus. It is separated from the land by a strait, which is only 40 meters wide at its narrowest point! Evia resorts are visited by the Greeks from Thessaly and Athens, who know where to look for a holiday relaxation away from the crowded resorts, yet close to home. They are followed by an increasing number of ksenoi – foreigners.
