3. DAY. TROU AUX CERFS - CUREPIPE - GRAND BASSIN - P. N. BLACK RIVER GORGES - LA RHUMERIE DE CHAMAREL - WATERFALL CHAMAREL - RESERVE OF THE SEVEN COLORS OF THE EARTH (route approx. 185 km) Breakfast. Drive and ascend TROU AUX CERFS, a 605 m high dormant volcano that was formed 2 million years ago. The crater is forested and you can see a small lake at its bottom. Transfer to CUREPIPE. A visit to the exhibition of miniature sailing ships from different eras in "Voiliers de l'Océan". The models impress with their precision of workmanship and attention to detail. Then, a drive to GRAND BASSIN, a sacred lake of Hindu believers, to which numerous pilgrimages are organized each year. Indians believe that the Ganga Talao lake - as they call it - is connected with the sacred Ganges in India. There is also the Sagar Shiv Mandir temple, near which stands a 33-meter statue of Shiva. 4. DAY. REST / DOMAINE DES AUBINEAUX - BOIS CHERI - LA VANILLE RESERVE - SAINT AUBIN Breakfast. Free time to rest at the hotel or optionally (for an extra charge on site): a trip around the south of the island. The first point on the tour is DOMAINE DES AUBINEAUX, the colonial home of the first tea growers, built in 1872. Visit the BOIS CHERI tea plantation, where you can taste the local tea. Then drive to the LA VANILLE RESERVE, which is home to iguanas and Nile crocodiles, as well as giant tortoises, brought from the Seychelles. During the visit, you will be able to observe the feeding of the animals and even take part in it yourself! There is also an insectarium in the reserve with rare species of insects from around the world. An opportunity to see a collection of fossils of extinct animals, such as the dodo bird. Lunch and rum tasting at the colonial estate of SAINT AUBIN, which includes vanilla and anthurium plantations, an old sugar factory and a distillery. DAY 6. PORT LOUIS - BOTANICAL GARDEN PAMPLEMOUSSES (route approx. 100 km) Breakfast. Check out. Transfer to PORT LOUIS, the capital of Mauritius. Walk to the historic citadel - Fort Adelaide that dominates the city, then drive past Champ de Mars, the first horse racing track built in the Southern Hemisphere. Walk past Saint Louis Cathedral, the theater and the State House which used to be a fortress and is today the official residence of the president. A visit to the PAMPLEMOUSSES BOTANICAL GARDEN. This amazing place can boast of countless different species of plants that have been imported from all over the world thanks to the French consul and gardener, Pierre Poivre, who started working on the garden at the end of the 18th century. Currently, its area covers several dozen hectares and is a paradise for lovers nature, it is also a great place to rest. Transfer to the hotel. Check-in, half-board. Overnight.
7th DAY. REST / BRAS D'EAU NATIONAL PARK - CENTRAL FLACQ MARKET Breakfast. Free time to rest at the hotel or optionally (for an extra charge on site): transfer to the BRAS D'EAU NATIONAL PARK. A few hours' walk through the park in an enchanting forest setting, decorated with meandering paths, leads to pristine natural lakes. Then a visit to the information center, where you can see the remains of an 18th-century sugar factory. After man's arrival in Mauritius, it was the sugar industry that, thanks to the sugar cane, turned out to be the main source of income for the inhabitants. A visit to the CENTRAL FLACQ MARKET, which is the largest open market on the island. Vendors offer not only tropical, juicy fruits that attract attention with a variety of colors, but also local delicacies, sweets and clothes. You should also try the refreshing sugar cane juice. 9. DAY. ILE AUX CERFS (route approx. 100 km) Breakfast. Transfer to Pointe Jerome. A catamaran cruise along the east coast of Mauritius, accompanied by paradise views. The first stop will be the Grand River with its waterfall. The forest that surrounds the river is home to unique animals - macaques. Free time to swim or snorkel in the Indian Ocean. The next point on the route is the picturesque island of ILE AUX CERFS, full of charming corners and tropical vegetation, as well as beaches with a gentle descent into the water, which allows you to stroll along the coast.
