Pobyt w hotelu nie zaczął się najlepiej, ponieważ otrzymaliśmy pokój na najniższej kondygnacji w odległej części obiektu. Już na korytarzu było czuć wilgoć, której zapach w pokoju był naprawdę uciążliwy. Do pokoju przez drzwi balkonowe można było dostać się od strony ogrodu, więc opcja przewietrzenia przez noc odpadała, a klimatyzacja była bardzo głośna. Dodatkowo zamiast podwójnego łóżka otrzymaliśmy 2 pojedyncze. Na szczęście, po zgłoszeniu uwag w recepcji pokój został zmieniony praktycznie w ciągu godziny, co wpłynęło korzystnie na całe wrażenia o hotelu. Niemniej, w łazienkach widać upływ czasu. Kompleks rozbudowany, posiadający zewnętrzne i wewnętrzne restauracje, niesamowitą strefę wodną z bezpośrednim zejściem do oceanu. Położenie rewelacyjne, niedaleko plaża, a do stolicy można dotrzeć spacerem w 15 minut. Obsługa bardzo miła i bezproblemowa. Codzienne serwisy pokoju, ze zmianą pościeli dwukrotnie w czasie pobytu. Spory wybór poszczególnych dodatków jeśli chodzi o posiłki (dużo warzyw, sałatek i serów), natomiast na śniadania codziennie było serwowane to samo, kolacje również nie były zbyt zróżnicowane. Hotel spełnił nasze oczekiwania. Wyposażenie pokoi mogło by być lepsze np. stara lodówka, która ledwo chłodzi oraz stary czajnik, którego bałem się używać, ale to w jaki sposób dbano o czystość i najważniejsze, że pokój był z widokiem na piękny ocean, wszystko wynagradza. Hotel chyba nie mógłby być lepiej położony z uwagi na to jak sama Madera jest ukształtowana, zaraz nad oceanem do którego trzeba zejść po drabinie, ale nam to nawet bardziej odpowiadało niż noszenie piasku do swojego pokoju. Obsługa bardzo miła, śniadania i kolacje z dużym wyborem ale niestety nawet za wodę trzeba dopłacić. Mimo wszystko, bez wahania bym mógł wybrać ten sam hotel, tym bardziej, że widziałem wiele innych hoteli, które miały co najwyżej basen, bez żadnej możliwości dojścia do oceanu.

Super hotel. Przestronny pokój,duża łazienka z dwoma umywalkami oraz lustrami( na dwóch ścianach). Pokoje codziennie sprzątane. Duży wybór jedzenia. Każdy coś znajdzie dla siebie. I proszę nie wierzyć w to co wypisują niektórzy, że słabe, że mało....itd. Jest wszystko od mięs przez ryby,makarony....do owoców morza. A o deserach,lodach i innych smakołykach zabrakłoby miejsca. Nawet niejadek głodny nie będzie. Natomiast hitem dla mnie był zjazd dwoma windami na baseny . Leżaki cały czas dostępne. A widok z basenu na Ocean nie do opisania. Następnym razem wybierając się na Maderę,na pewno wybiorę ten sam hotel.

Ogólnie hotel początkowo bardzo nas do siebie zraził, natomiast stopniowo zaczęliśmy się przyzwyczajać do występujących w nim niedogodności i doceniać plusy które również niewątpliwie w nim występują. Zacznijmy od minusów: -Wydane nam karty pokojowe były źle namagnesowane i nie mogliśmy wejść do pokoju, po naprawie kart przez chwilę działała jedna, potem do końca wyjazdu musieliśmy używać jednej. -W pokoju mieliśmy dwa osobne łóżka, mimo podróży jako para - to najmniejszy minus po prostu je nam połączono. - największym minusem były łazienki, a jest to dla nas najważniejszy aspekt przy ocenie hotelu. Były okropnie zaniedbane, brudne fugi i wanna. Odpływ zapchany i po 2-3 minutach prysznicu stało się w wodzie po kostki. - Ogólnie w pokojach czuć było najbardziej to jak hotel jest po prostu stary. Nadgryzienie zębem czasu było widoczne również w dolnych przechodnich korytarzach pomiędzy wieżą pierwsza i drugą, gdzie w ciasnym korytarzu z obdrapanymi ścianami dało się spotkać małe biegające jaszczurki. Basen wewnętrzny również widać że wiekowy. Co do plusów: - super wybór przy jedzeniu, większość bardzo smaczna. Odmówiliśmy sobie tylko picia kawy, mimo że jest ona niby z ekspresu to w smaku była zupełnie jak rozpuszczalna. Może to po prostu kwestia gustu. Kuchnia 5/6! -Położenie rewelacja. Blisko Funchal i super lokalizacja wypadowa na całą maderę, gdy wypożyczy się auto. Parking podziemny dla wypożyczonych aut też na plus. Bardzo się wahaliśmy czy polecać ten hotel, czy nie, natomiast sprawdziliśmy ogłoszenie na stronie Itaka i tych Łazienek które tak nas dotknęły nawet nie ma w galerii. Zdjęcia pokojów też wyidealizowane. Faktyczny stan powinien być widoczny, na pewno byśmy z niego zrezygnowali i wybrali droższą opcję, aby te pięć gwiazdek było odczuwalne - tutaj mimo dobrego jedzenia, położenia czy miłej obsługi jednak czuliśmy niedosyt i trochę się zraziliśmy.

Hotel przyjazny rodzinom z dziećmi. Kilka basenów do wyboru zarówno ze słoną jak i słodką wodą(wewnętrzny). Pomost do oceanu rewelacyjny, plywanie w ławicy zapamiętam na lata. Jedzenie bardzo smaczne, podspiewująca kucharka umilająca czas oczekiwania na przygotowanie dania jest fenomenalna, obsluga hotelowa na najwyższym poziomie. W hotelu czysto i przyjemnie, choc nie obylo sie bez spotkania z karaluchem i watahą superszybkich mrowek. Z hotelu do centrum okolo 40 minut spacerem, Boltem 6 minut za okolo 9 euro. Hotelowi przytrafiły sie wpadki w naszym pokoju - zatkany odpływ, ale reakcja była natychmiastowo rozwiązana.

Jedzenie bardzo dobre ,obsługa miła i pomocna.W pokoju w nocy znaleźliśmy wielkiego karalucha ,obsługa powiedziała że to normalne i zaproponowała inny pokój. Ale w nocy nie mieliśmy ochoty na przeprowadzkę.

The centre of the island — cable car ride over the rooftops of the city of Funchal to the Monthe hill. Visiting: the sanctuary of Our Lady on Monte hill, tropical garden with Madeira's relic endemic vegetation. The picturesque mountain road leads to the heart of the island, where from panoramic terraces of Eira do Serrado you can admire the breathtaking view of the mountain precipices. A drive to a secluded village, the Valley of the Nuns, tasting the local specialty - liqueurs with chestnut, chocolate and passion fruit flavors. The route leads to the other side of the mountain range, to Câmara de Lobos - a typical fishing village with a charming port, Winston Churchill's favourite place. Optionally: a crazy downhill ride on wicker sleighs from Monte Hill (additionally payable: 15 EUR/person). Day trip. A drive through the ancient laurel forest (under the patronage of UNESCO) to the picturesque village of Sao Vincente. A visit to the Multimedia Volcanic Centre in São Vicente. A drive along the north coast to the popular resort of Porto Moniz and admiring the natural lava pools. Passage through the remarkable "Madeiran Tundra", the Paul da Serra plateau. A drive to Pico de Arieiro - the third largest peak of Madeira (1818 m), from which, in good weather, you can see the crown of the island and the spectacular mountain landscapes. A drive through the world's largest valleys, covered with ancient Laurisilva laurel trees, to Ribeiro Frio village with a state-owned trout farm. A visit to the heritage park of traditional houses with thatched roofs in the village of Santana, admiring the cliff landscape of the peninsula of St Lawrence, vantage points with a panorama of Eagle Rock, the islands of Porto Santo, Desertas and the runway of the airport supported on 180 columns. Evening with fado and Madeiran folklore — dinner in a traditional restaurant comprised of specialties of the cuisine: espetada (grilled meat) with polenta (fried cornmeal), soup, salad, boiled vegetables, dessert. The dinner is accompanied by the performance of a folk band (singing and dancing, traditional instruments) and then a concert of Portuguese fado songs performed by one of the best female singers on the island. Levada — Madeira is famous for its canals, which provide every corner of the island with water from the mountains. They were built here already in the days of the first Portuguese colonizers. Along the canals many trekking routes of varying difficulty were created. Please bring: sports shoes, clothing suited to changing weather, drinks and lunch. The prices include transport and the care of an English-speaking mountain guide.
Levada Rabacal — level: average, approx. 13 km, trekking time: approx. 4 h, on the route: the high waterfall Risco and cascade "25 springs" consisting of many waterfalls, the UNESCO-protected laurel forest Laurissilva. Price - approx. 33 EUR; from hotels from the east of the island - approx. 37 EUR, from the west and the north - approx. 37 EUR.
Funchal — a visit to the city market where the inhabitants of Madeira meet. Located in the heart of the center of Funchal, the market offers the best fruits, vegetables and flowers on the island and local gastronomy and crafts. A walk through the historic city center: the port area, the 15th-century Manueline style cathedral, the Madeira parliament building, the citadel of St. Lawrence and the statue of Józef Piłsudski. Visiting the famous "Old Blandy Wine Lodge" winery, getting to know the production process of the exceptional Madeira wine, which has its unique taste due to its aging in oak barrels. Tasting. A drive to the Pico dos Barcelos (355 m) lookout point, which offers a panoramic view of the entire city. Half-day trip. Price - approx. 34 EUR (includes: entrance tickets, wine tasting, Polish language guide care); from hotels from the east of the island - approx. 40 EUR, from the west and the north - approx. 60 EUR.
Levada to Furado — trekking on the levadas, unique irrigation channels. Level: medium, approx. 11 km, trekking time: approx. 5 hours. Route starts at Ribeiro Frio in the commune of Santana. Along the way there are wonderful views of the valleys and the peaks of the island. Stop and lunch at the old Herdade do Lombo das Faias farm. Continuation of trekking along the levada to Furado, an opportunity to admire the endemic flora and fauna of the laurel forest (so-called Laurissilva). Trekking ends with a descent to the Portela village. One should take suitable clothing and trekking footwear. Price - from approx. 43 EUR (includes: transport, supervision of a Polish-speaking guide, lunch at the farm).
